Hi, I live in Korea and I was wondering, is the norm to give tips in Korea?



I just had my hair cut in a hair salon, and the girl who does the routine things like washing hair or sweeping the floor (but leaving the hair dressing and styling to the more experienced women) seemed to give me some extra service. Specifically, after shampooing my hair she gave me a head and neck massage, which I didn't ask for (I don't even know how to ask for that in Korean [img]images/smilies/smile.gif[/img]), and then after I'd paid for my hair cut, and I went to leave, she was waiting by the door.



At that point should I have given her a tip, or not?
