Japon istilacılar tarafından tahrib edilmiştir.Bunda dolayı yaniden inşa edilmiştir.
Tamir edilirken aslına uygun olunmaya çalışılmıştır.Pagoda,iki sekizgen stupas ve tüm yapıtlar yakın zamanda yeniden inşa edilmiştir.

Bu üç katlı taş pagoda ilgi çekicidir ve ilginçtir.Yeniden tamir edilmiştir.
Bu pagodanın mimari tarzı na dayanarak tapınağın Birleşeik Shilla döneminde yapıldığı düşünülüyor.

Bu heykel tek bir kaplumbağadan oluşmaktadıır.Bu kaplumbağanın özellikleri büyük bir kafa.gözler

DOĞU STUPA



Bu yapının Korya dönemine ait olduğu sanılıyor.
Tipik bir tasarımdır.Lotuslarla süslüdür.Yine bir kaplumbağadır.


BATI STUPA




Tapınağın batı kesminde yer alır.Diğer Stupa gibi büyük değildir.Alt ve üst orantıları çok düzgündür.Lotus tasarımlı olan bu Stupa sekizgendirOyma işlemelerde bir kapı ve üzerinbde koruyucu olduğuna inanılan Tanrı vardır.Ana gövdesinde Rahibe kabartmaları vardır.

Located in Piagol Valley of Jiri-san National Park, this site contains the ruins of an acient temple reputed to have been built around 543 by the priest Yeon-gi Chosa who was then the head of Hwaom-sa. However, excavated relics indicate its founding to be later, in either the late United Shilla period (668-935) or the early Koryo period (918-1392). Burnt during the Japanese invasions of 1592-98, it was rebuilt, only to be destroyed during the Korean War (1950-53).

At the time of its construction, it was even larger than nearby Hwaom-sa and Cheoneun-sa Temples. However, the only remains from the original temple include a three-story stone pagoda, two octagonal stupas (designated as National Treasures), a stele for the stupa of Monk Hyongak-sonsa, and two steles for the two octagonal stupas, all designated as Treasures. All the other structures have been rebuilt recently.

Three-story Stone Pagoda of Yeongok-sa
This unusual pagoda, designated Treasure #151, has a unique triple rectangular base made with a number of stone pieces. This pagoda features a unique style of a triple foundation. As the body is small compared to the foundation, the pagoda gives an air of stability. Due to its style, it is presumed to have been built during the late Unified Shilla period (668-918). The corner pillars are intricately carved, and each roof stone has four-stepped props, although the final roofstone is missing. The third-story roofstone was restored in January 1967 and a 23.5cm seated bronze Buddha was found sitting on a stone slab inside the upper base.

Stele To Priest Hyonkak Sonsa
This stele (designated Treasure #152) also does not have its main body any longer. Only a tortoise-shaped pedestal and dragon capstone remain. The tortoise head features large eyes and a wide mouth. Whiskers are engraved around the surface of the pedestal. In a style typical of the Koryo period (918-1392), the capstone's dragon design is grand and stout. The stone stele is believed to have been erected in 979.

Stele of Eastern Stupa
The main body of this stele (designated Treasure #153) is missing. Only a turtle-shaped pedestal with a capstone in the design of a dragon remains. The pedestal and capstone are rather small and the head has been repaired. The parts of the pedestal and capstone are adorned with cloud and lotus designs. The back of the turtle is not of the typical sexangle design, but of a bird wing pattern. The stele is believed to date to the Koryo period (918-1392).

Western Stupa
This stupa (designated Treasure #154) in the western part of the temple is not as large as the other stupas of Yeongok-sa. The proportions between the upper and lower parts is very elegant. The pedestal has a lotus design, and the octagonal body has a door and guardian deity designs carved in relief. The letters engraved on the main body indicate that the stupa is dedicated to priest Soya Taesa in 1650.
